My Own Words- Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Mary Hartnett Wendy, W. Williams

Why did you choose this item to share with the library?

Ruth Bader Ginsburg has been a hero of mine since elementary school. Her life story is something that everyone can look up to, she has overcome a lot of hardships and she reminds the reader that throughout those hardships there is the ability to become extraordinary.

What is your major?

History Major

What was the most memorable/useful thing about working in the library?

The most memorable thing about working in the library was the experience I got working with the special collections. Also, everyone working there was the absolute best. I never dreaded going to work and it has been the best job I have ever had.

What advice would you give to incoming SSU  students?

My advice to incoming freshmen is to be open to change, you might come into college thinking you have a set plan and then find something you love. Find something your passionate about because College is a lot easier when you’re excited about what you’re learning. Finally, go to office hours, professors are there to help you, take advantage of it.

What is next for you?

I’ve been accepted into a Master’s and women’s history program at Sarah Lawrence College and will hopefully be moving to New York in the fall. However, if campuses are still closed, I will be starting the program at home and moving in the spring.
