Mountain Lions Come to Library in New Exhibit

Sonoma State University Library is delighted to be the host of local artist Michelle Friend’s preservation-themed exhibit, Ghost Cat: My World.

The exhibit, which opened October 21 and runs through early January 2016, highlights the majestic and misunderstood mountain lion. Through stunning graphite drawings, Ms. Friend explores issues of habitat loss, wild pet trade, hunting, and other threats to the mountain lion’s existence, as well as pays tribute to the cat’s beauty and power.

This is the inaugural exhibit for this area of the Library, which will house more exhibits in the future.

Visit the second floor of the University Library whenever the Library is open to admire the charismatic cougars on display. The Library is open 7:30 a.m. to midnight Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, and noon to 9 p.m. Sunday.
