A Weekend in Sonoma County with C-SPAN

Sonoma County was the star of a recent set of episodes on C-SPAN’s Cities Tour. Videographers from C-SPAN’s Book TV and American History TV channels paid a visit to the county to highlight North Bay history, with the help of local historians, scholars, and librarians.

Sonoma State University Library’s Lynn Prime, head of Special Collections, showed some of the unique materials from our very own Jack London Collection, Dust Bowl Migration Archive, and Ernest Hemingway Letters. Videographers interviewed local historian Gaye LeBaron at Santa Rosa’s Courthouse Square, where she discussed the devastating effect of the 1906 Earthquake on Santa Rosa. Also interviewed were Corry Kanzenberg and Cesar Gallegos of the Charles Schulz Museum, and Charles Levine of the Jack London State Historic Park.
