What Can the Library Do For You?

Everyone knows you can borrow books from the library, but did you know about all the other things the library can do for you?

Borrowing

In addition to borrowing books, we have a huge selection of DVDs you can check out for a week, including new feature films and excellent documentaries. We also have over 13,000 albums covering a wide variety of musical genres. You can take them home or listen to them here in the library. Don't have a record player? We have lots of CDs, too!

Did you know that we also lend laptops? You can check out one of our Mac laptops for up to four hours, and they can be taken out of the library if you need to bring one to class!

If you can't find a book or article that you want in our library, we can get it for you from another library easily! We can get most books through our Link+ service, and it usually takes about two days for books to arrive. Articles can be requested through Interlibrary Loan: When you see the Find It button next to an article in one of our databases, click through to Interlibrary Loan if we don't have the article. Most articles will arrive within 24 hours and be emailed to you directly. We can get almost anything in the world for you; all you have to do is ask.

Study Rooms and more

The library has twelve study rooms available to be reserved for group or individual study. All of our study rooms are on the third floor, and can be reserved up to a week in advance online

But it's not just study rooms that are available. We also have a student presentation room with a computer, projector, and a white board. This is a great space to practice for upcoming presentations, and it can also be reserved.

We also have three media viewing rooms, where you can watch DVDs and VHS tapes with your class, study group, or just a group of friends.

Disability Services

The library has many services for students with disabilities, including accessible workstations, scanners with OCR technology, speech recognition and and screen reader software, and much more. Don't hesitate to ask if there's anything you need.

Research Help

Your friendly librarians are here to help you with your research projects and other assignments. You can come to the Information/Check-out Desk between 11:00 am and 4:00 pm Monday through Thursday for direct Research Help. You can make an appointment with a subject librarian via email or phone call. And you can get 24 hour chat research help from a librarian in our global librarian network anytime! Librarians are always here for you.
