About the Space

The SSU Makerspace is a place to dream, make, and innovate. SSU students, faculty, and staff are invited to explore digital fabrication, prototyping, and a wide range of technology to transform idea to reality. All disciplines and skill sets can experience new technologies through workshops, experimentation, and free-play. By providing the tools and ingredients we hope to encourage creativity and inquiry, and to facilitate cross-disciplinary collaboration.

Much of the equipment in the SSU Makerspace was purchased through funding provided by a National Science Foundation grant.

We are located on the campus of Sonoma State University in Rohnert Park, California, in the Jean and Charles Schulz Information Center, room 2012H.

Faculty who are interested in bringing their class to the SSU Makerspace or would like to discuss curriculum please contact Rita Premo, Scholarly Communications Librarian, at premo@sonoma.edu. For general questions, support, or to schedule a tour or event please contact Jonathan M. Smith, Senior Director for Technology and Access Services, at jonathan.smith@sonoma.edu.
