About the Collection

The Sonoma State University Archives preserve material produced by Sonoma State University and its constituent parts. These vital print, graphic and media records document the history, growth and development of the University and support its institutional memory.

The University Archives include, but are not limited to, the following items:

  • SSU student newspapers (1961 – )
  • Yearbooks
  • Course catalogs & schedules
  • Commencement programs
  • Early newsletters and periodicals
  • Inactive academic and administrative records
  • Superseded handbooks, directories, and brochures
  • Publicity
  • Artifacts

Note: Born-digital items are not included in the collection

Access to the Collection

Who is eligible to use the collection?
This collection is a public resource that is available to campus and community researchers.

When is the collection accessible?
Visits are by appointment.

Are there restrictions to viewing the collection?
Items must be viewed in the University Library (third floor south) accompanied by Library personnel. For more information, see User Guidelines.

May I reproduce items from this collection?
