  • U. S. Copyright Office -- Official site for U.S. copyright information and registering as a copyright owner. Good FAQ and summary of copyright basics.
  • U. S. Patent and Trademark Office -- Official site for U.S. patent information and registration.
  • Bitlaw: a Resource on Technology Law -- Well-organized website on technology law, contains "over 1,800 pages on patent, copyright, trademark, and Internet legal issues."
  • Copyright Management Center Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis has compiled a great set of links on fair use, giving & getting permissions (including music, software, texts), electronic reserves, multimedia and visual arts.
