Study & Viewing Rooms in the University Library
- Rooms are assigned on a first come, first served basis.
- Priority use for SSU students, faculty and staff.
- Reservations will be held for 15 minutes past the designated starting time. Then the room will be available to others.
- Users are expected to comply with all other campus and library policies while using these areas.
- Last minute reservations will be accommodated whenever possible.
- Please treat the spaces with respect and clean up any trash generated by your group. If you move chairs or tables, return them to their original configuration.
- The Library bears no responsibility for equipment or materials left in the rooms.
- The University Library reserves the right to refuse service.
Study room details
- The 12 study rooms on the third floor south are great areas for students to get together and hold joint study sessions.
- Network access is available in all rooms except 3010 and 3011. Wireless access is available in all rooms.
- The group study rooms are located in the library’s designated Quiet Area. Please keep doors closed and minimize discussion while walking to and from the study rooms.
Reserving rooms
- Make reservations at the Circulation Desk on the second floor or by calling 664-2375.
- Rooms are reserved for a maximum of 2 hours.
- Reservations can be made no more than one week in advance.
- Renewals are allowed if additional rooms are available.
Getting a key
- One member of a study group who has a valid campus ID or borrower card must check out a key from the Circulation Desk on the second floor.
- This person is responsible for both the key and the condition of the room upon departure.
- Keys must be returned to the desk after the two hour time period has elapsed. Rooms must be vacated and doors locked at that time.
- Fines will accrue for late keys @ $1.00/per hour for every hour overdue.
- The campus charges $250 for a lost key; in the event that one of the keys is not returned, the responsible party will be charged that amount on his or her library account.
Multimedia group viewing room details
Three multimedia group viewing rooms are avialable for instructionally-related group viewing of multimedia materials.
- There are 4 group viewing rooms in the Multimedia Center on the second floor.
- These rooms are for groups viewing DVDs, videocassettes and laserdiscs.
- These are not meeting rooms, classrooms or lecture spaces.
- There are no computer workstations, projectors or active network jacks.
Reserving rooms
- Rooms are reserved for a maximum of 4 hours.
- Rooms may be reserved in advance with no more than 3 consecutive time slots reserved per class.
- Make reservations in person at the Multimedia Desk, over the phone at 707-664-2597 or via our webform.

Group Viewing Room 2015A
- Seats 15-20
- 38" TV, VCR, DVD player (compatible with VCD, CD, and DVD-R discs)
- Note: Rooms 2015A & 2015B have a removeable partition and can be combined to accomodate a maximum of 50 persons. Advance notice is required.
Group Viewing Room 2015B
- Seats 30
- 65" Projection screen TV
- DVD player (compatible with VCD, CD, and DVD-R discs), Laserdisc player
- Note: Rooms 2015A & 2015B have a removeable partition and can be combined to accomodate a maximum of 50 persons. Advance notice is required.
Other Rooms
The library schedules only the group study rooms on the 3rd floor and the multimedia viewing rooms on the second floor. The campus meeting room 1121 is scheduled by Conference & Event Services (664-2475). The campus lab, 2010, and instructional rooms are scheduled by Academic Scheduling (664-2844).
