The item I chose.

There is not one particular item. However, the library's selection of study materials and guidebooks are quite extensive and helped me discover what type of learner I am. This helped me be successful both inside and outside of the school setting.

Why did you choose this item to share with the library?

Learning what works best for your brain and mental health is a skill that unfortunately most students do not discover until later on in their studies. If you can figure out what works best for you, you can focus on yourself and take major stressors out of the equation.

What is your major?

Kinesiology

What was the most memorable/useful thing about working in the library?

Working with the staff and patrons is extremely beneficial. I built strong relationships that improved my quality as an employee, as well as learned the ins and outs of research and applied that to my studies.

What advice would you give to incoming SSU (e.g., freshman) students?

I would tell incoming students to discover and use your resources. There is not a single person at SSU that does not want to help you. Everybody is here for your benefit, reach out to them, and appreciate them!

What is next for you?

I simultaneously completed my EMT training at SRJC along with finishing my SSU degree. Next step is Paramedic school! Rescue medic here I come!
