What is your favorite book, eBook, DVD, or music score?

One of my favorite materials that I was able to come across at my time at SSU is a book titled, "Spaces of Conflict, Sounds of Solidarity" by Gaye Theresa Johnson.

This book was a course material for one of Chicano and Latino Studies courses taught by Dr. Patricia Kim-Rajal. This book is significant to me because the course it was used for was one of my favorite classes I had taken at SSU. I also really enjoy the overall content of the book, and I find it interesting and exciting to know that there is material like this that interests me out in the world.

Why did you choose this item to share with the library?

I chose to share this item with the library because I think it is a really important book that explores ways in communities of color can/have come together to create alliances against injustices in their communities.

What is your major?

I am a Sociology major with a minor in Chicano and Latino Studies

What was the most memorable/useful thing about working in the library?

I would say the most memorable thing about working at the library is the wonderful staff and fellow SA's that I had the privilege of working with. I can honestly say I loved working with such a wonderful team that was always supportive.

What advice would you give to incoming SSU students?

The advice I would give to incoming freshmen is to utilize your campus resources and to reach out to your professors! There are wonderful people that work at SSU that want to help you/ see you succeed!

What is next for you?

I'm not sure what is next for me, but I plan on eventually continuing my education and apply to grad school. The possibilities are endless!
