What is your favorite book, eBook, DVD, or music score?

My favorite book is one I read at SSU for my freshman-year English class. The book is entitled Feed by M.T. Anderson, and it has been my favorite book since my freshman year, due to the impact it has had on me through the years.

Why did you choose this item to share with the library?

This book focuses on how powerful technology is and how we are all at risk of being consumed by the flow of corporate power, technology, and consumerism. This book is a healthy reminder to stay in the moment.  Sometimes we have to disconnect from the tech world, be in the now, and live life with passion.

What is your major?

Early Childhood Studies: my focus is on education, with a minor in Chicano and Latino studies.

What was the most memorable/useful thing about working in the library?

The most memorable thing about working in the library was the staff here, they were always here to lend an ear and to talk about life. I will miss the staff here at the SSU library.  They have made a big impact on my life.  Thank you all.

What advice would you give to incoming SSU (e.g., freshman) students?

I would say the best advice I could give you is to get involved with the school because it will make your time here worth it. Also, manage your time well because it is easy to get off track, and just remember the years you spend here at SSU will be worth it if you put your mind to it.

What is next for you?

I’m going to be applying to graduate/credential programs around here to further my education in my field.
