Community Members

Visitors not affiliated with SSU can join our Community Borrowers program. Community Borrowers can borrow books and media from our circulating collections for up to 30 days. 

The Community Borrower program does not include: 

  • CSU+ or Interlibrary Loan services
  • Access to lending laptops and other equipment
  • Remote access to electronic resources

Community Borrowers must be at least 18 years old. Children may use a parent or guardian's Community Borrower card with a signed permission form

Cost

Joining the Community Borrower program costs $10 for 3 months. 

SSU and CSU Alumni Association members, SSU volunteers, SRJC students and faculty, current California K-12 teachers, and retired staff can join the Community Borrower program at no cost! 

Loan Terms and Limits

  • Community borrowers may check out up to 10 items at any one time.
  • Most materials are loaned for 30 days and are renewable once. Please review our Borrowing Policies for more details. 
  • Items can be renewed online in your library account.
  • Access may be revoked for failure to comply with library policies.

Computers and Internet Access

Community members can use library computers and the wireless network by requesting a one-week temporary pass at the Information/Checkout Desk. Review the Computers page for more information. Retired staff may be eligible for an extended Internet pass. Please contact the IT Help Desk for more information.
