Makerspace

The SSU Library Makerspace is a place to dream, make, and innovate. SSU students, faculty, and staff are invited to explore digital fabrication, prototyping, and a wide range of technology to transform ideas into reality. People from all disciplines and with any level of skill can experiment with new technologies in workshops or just by coming in and playing. By providing the tools and materials, we hope to encourage creativity and inquiry and to facilitate cross-disciplinary collaboration.

Not sure how to use the tools you're interested in? There is always someone available to show you the ropes. We also offer occasional workshops, so check out the calendar of events below.

Materials are free, but if you have a large project in mind, you will want to purchase your own materials to ensure you will have enough of what you need.

Faculty who are interested in bringing their class to the SSU Library Makerspace or who would like to discuss curriculum should contact Rita Premo, Scholarly Communications Librarian, at premo@sonoma.edu

For general questions, support, or to schedule a tour or event, please contact Jonathan M. Smith, Senior Director for Technology and Access Services, at jonathan.smith@sonoma.edu.
