Student Newspaper Digital Collection

Outlaw Steppes. Even more power to the people.

This collection provides access to digitized student newspapers from Sonoma State University’s history, dating from 1961. Included are The Sonoma State Star and its predecessors, The Sonoman, Cossack Steppes, Outlaw Steppes, Sonoma State Steppes, Cal State Sonoma Key, Voice of the Redwoods, Patchwork, Cotati Call, Sonoma State Morning Glory and Sonoma State Carousel. The collection provides insight into SSU events, issues, and life throughout history as well as student viewpoints regarding campus, local, national, and global news.

Current issues of the Star are available on the Sonoma State Star website. Earlier issues are available via University Wire, which SSU students can access through the Library's subscription to Global Newsstream. An excellent resource for finding specific article titles and authors is the Student Newspaper Index.
